Hough & Zaccone Investment Management expands, to purchase Thraen Investments

Hough and Zaccone Investment Management have announced the purchase of long time Harlan investment firm — Thraen Investments, Harlan, effective August 1, 2010. Thraen Investments was started in 1945 by Ambrose Thraen and in 1998, his son, Don took over the family investment business.

“We are thrilled to purchase such a longtime reputable family business which has business ties throughout greater Shelby County,” said partners Anthony Hough and Joe Zaccone.

“We will continue Don’s goal of building relationships based on trust and servicing clients’ financial needs and in the weeks ahead we will begin the process of transferring the accounts to our offices at 803 Durant St.” Hough and Zaccone have a combined 33 years (Tony 20 years and Joe 13 years) in the investment business.

“Not unlike our purchase of Midstates Investment Center in February 2010, we believe we are taking another career step that we are convinced will allow us to serve our clients in the best manner possible,” they said.

Don Thraen said, “After 12 years in the financial services business, I have made the difficult decision to retire. I have also decided to transfer my book of business to Hough & Zaccone Investment Management.

“My goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible for my clients and the team at Hough & Zaccone have a combined experience of 33 years and I’m confident my clients will be pleased with their customer service and support.
